CRM4: Reopen Sales Order Record using on demand workflow

A clients requirement popped up today that i solved previously using naught unsupported methods “SQL”….

The clients would like to effectively reopen a sales order to update one of the details.

This is not really possible once the order has been closed as all the fields are now read only.

This is the workaround……

 

Create the following On Demand workflow

Reopen a Sales Order in CRM 4 using on demand workflow

Go to the closed order and select the on demand workflow

Reopen a Sales Order in CRM 4 using on demand workflow

Reopen a Sales Order in CRM 4 using on demand workflow

Once selected, refresh the workflow and you should be able to modify it.

  • Was a big issue for us because completed orders could not be adjusted if needed afterwards.
    Now we can, with this simple workflow, and without any intervention in the SQL database.
